• This gives foreign families a relatively friction‑light path to re‑domicile or co‑locate holding companies, portfolios or co‑investment SPVs into a Malaysian FO platform, compared with many other onshore regimes.

3. Attractive residency and personal tax

• Knowledge workers employed in the SFZ, including foreign professionals in the SFO, qualify for a 15% flat Malaysian personal income‑tax rate, which is very competitive for CIOs, portfolio managers and senior FO staff.
• The scheme provides fast‑track 10‑year Resident Pass–Talent (FT‑RPT) options for key family members and professionals, renewable for another 10 years, with dependent passes for spouses, children and parents—creating a clear residency pathway tied to the FO.

4. Institutional yet family‑controlled framework

• To qualify, a foreign family must set up two Malaysia‑incorporated companies—SFOV and SFO Management Co, both wholly owned by members of a single family (lineal descendants of one ancestor).
• Requirements include at least RM30m AUM, minimum four FTE staff and local spend of RM650k per year in Malaysia over time, plus one qualified investment professional(can be a family member with relevant credentials).
• This delivers real economic substance and comfort to banks/regulators while preserving family control rather than forcing use of third‑party fund platforms.

5. Strategic location for Asia access

• Forest City SFZ is positioned as a regional wealth hub in the Johor–Singapore corridor, giving foreign families physical access to Singapore’s financial ecosystem while locating their FO in a lower‑cost, tax‑incentivised Malaysian zone.
• Incentives sit within a broader package (0–5% corporate tax for selected financial and fintech activities, special deductions and WHT exemptions), so families can co‑locate operating or investment platforms alongside the FO.
